The City of Warwick tax assessment letters hit at the end of April and the clock is ticking on a response to start the appeals process!
If you believe your home’s tax assessment is too high, you have until this Friday May16th to request an appeal.
Please READ your individual letters for information and instructions. This is your opportunity to present any evidence regarding the market value of your property. Â
GPHA is on it. Members of the GPHA board met with Mayor Picozzi and the Warwick Tax Assessor last week to learn more about how the assessments were set and what can be done.
Warwick tax model established assessments between 90 and 110% of market value based on completed market sales of comparable properties on leased land. But we’re not sure that they got things right.
We are continuing to advocate on behalf of our community, but we need you to take action too!
Homeowners who would like to request an appeal must go online to this linked website or call 888-844-4300 to schedule a phone appeal appointment by May 16th.Â
Once you have your call, they will ask you to fill out the form linked here. It may be a good idea to review this form ahead of your call so you know what type of information they may request.
If enough of us appeal our assessments, the Tax Assessor has offered to meet with us as a group for inspections and discussions.
Please let us know if you appeal so we can be sure to include you in our discussions with Warwick City officials. You can email us by clicking this link or sending a note to gaspeepointhomeownersassoc@gmail.com.
There is power in numbers, and we’re all in this together.
Thank you,
GPHA Board
